It’s been almost three weeks since the Cancer Society’s “Walk for Life – Stand for Hope – Remembrance Walk” around the Queen’s Park Savannah, yet touching responses from our listeners and well-wishers who were a part of it are still pouring in! Thank you, members of the T&T Cancer Society, for allowing Heartbeat Radio to be a part of this important Breast Cancer Awareness Drive. And thank YOU, listeners and friends, for joining us in honouring the memory of loved ones, for lending support to those doing battle with this savage disease and for proving that compassion and love for our fellowman are very much alive in our beloved nation. Let’s all keep wearing those lovely commemorative t-shirts that we wore on October 29, 2011, let’s keep working towards healthier and happier lives and let’s hope for a world free of cancer.

Saturday, November 12th, 2011Looking at Depression in T&T
Thursday, November 10th, 2011Medical experts tell us that everyone will at some point in their lives be affected by depression – someone else’s or their own. Depression is an illness and nearly two-thirds of people suffering from it do not seek necessary treatment. The World Health Organization estimates that by the year 2020, depression will be the second highest cause of “lost years of healthy life” worldwide. This November, Heartbeat 103.5 examines the issues that lead to and result from depression among teenagers, women and men. Join Nicole and her special guests every Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 9:30 as they broach a subject that should be of concern to us all: DEPRESSION in Trinidad and Tobago, another Heartbeat Radio exclusive.
